Angélica Durán-Martínez is an assistant professor of Political Science at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell. She obtained a Ph.D. in Political Science at Brown University, a B.A. from Universidad Nacional de Colombia and an M.A. from New York University. Her research has received funding from the USIP, the SSRC, and the Drugs, Security, and Democracy fellowship. She has published in the Journal of Conflict Resolution, Journal of Peace Research, Latin American Politics and Society, among other journals. Her current book project is entitled “Criminals, Cops, and Politicians: Drug Violence in Colombia and Mexico.”
