As Venezuela faces an economic crisis that has left the nation’s citizens in abhorrent conditions, without access to necessities such as food and medicine, Venezuelans are fleeing to neighboring countries that are already dealing with an unprecedented influx of middle eastern refugees, as well as internal conflicts between gangs, guerilla groups, and corruption scandals. Neighboring countries, though sympathetic to Venezuela’s worsening condition, are struggling to accept Venezuelan migrants.
El objetivo de la presente investigación es analizar las características asumidas por el proceso de adaptación académica de los estudiantes migrantes incorporados a la educación básica y media de la ciudad de Arica, contexto de investigación caracterizado por su situación bi-fronteriza.
More than a fourth of the total Salvadoran population lives outside of El Salvador, and migrants’ remittances account for the country’s largest source of income 1 2. According to the World Bank, El Salvador has become one of the world’s top recipients of remittances as a share of GDP (Ratha & Silwal 2012). As emigration grew throughout the postwar period following displacements from the country’s 1979
