Deforestación de la Amazonia

La Amazonia es un bosque magnífico que cubre mucha tierra del norte de sudamérica. El bosque es una fuente de vida diversa y es considerado el “pulmón del planeta”. Según Perfil, la región es hogar de más que 40.000 tipos de plantas, 3.000 especies de peces, 1.300 especies de pájaros y 370 tipos de reptiles. Además, la región compleja es hogar de mucha gente indígena. Las personas nativas son miembras de tribus conocidos como la guaraní y la yanomami, pero también hay más que cien grupos en la Amazonia Brasileña que nunca tuvieron contacto con el mundo afuera del bosque.

Não é raro encontrarmos no noticiário político denúncias sobre a evolução patrimonial de agentes públicos. Um exemplo desse aumento patrimonial é o deputado federal Aelton Freitas que, em 2006, informou ao Tribunal Superior Eleitoral (TSE) um patrimônio de R$1,4 milhão. Porém, quatro anos mais tarde, quando foi reeleito, informou ao TSE um patrimônio de R$5,4 milhões, um aumento de 321% em quatro anos como deputado federal.

In 2003, Brazil’s Senate passed a Disarmament Statute in response to spiking murder rates that is still in place today.  The statute created a number of laws pertaining to gun ownership, including clauses that call for people interested in applying for a gun to be at least 25 years old, to be free of any criminal history, to have proof that they have a steady job and fixed residence, and to pass a psychological test and pass gun training courses.
