Pablo Neruda's Legacy

Pablo Neruda, the famed Chilean poet, is scheduled to be exhumed for a second time in less than three years in order to test his body for possible poisoning, which would support the claim that his death was a murder rather than the result of prostate cancer. In April 2013, his remains were exhumed in order to determine whether or not he was actually killed by poison during the 1973 coup of Augusto Pinochet.

Long Term Change in the Prehispanic Agropastoral Societies of Bolivian Highlands

Last summer I had the opportunity to conduct a short-term archaeological field research mainly in the Siliza drainage region, located in the Department of Oruro on the southern highlands of Bolivia, and I also conducted research in the cities of La Paz and Oruro. During my field research I had the opportunity to adequately design my research strategy and efficiently accomplish the proposed goals.

In her third edition of The Jews of Latin America, Judith Laikin Elkin describes the history of Judaism, Jewish culture, and its migration across Europe and Latin America throughout the centuries. Region by region, beginning with Iberia and concluding with the current Jewish population in Latin America, she discusses the presence of the Jewish community through each era that they settled, as well as the plethora of reasons they were forced to relocate.
